GoValk Strategy Guide
This is the thread for the GoValk army composition, generously made a few months ago and has been ravaging Clan Wars ever since. This is my favorite Army composition because there isn't much thought that has to go into the attack.
Army Composition:
- 11 Valkyries
- 8 Hog Riders
- 2 Golem (1 in CC)
- 12 Wizards
- 6 Archers
- 4 Wallbreakers
- Barbarian King (optional)
- Archer Queen
- 3 Heal
- 1 Rage
- 2 Poison (1 in CC)
Strategy:
The strategy of the attack is quite simple. Drop your 2 Golems at a designated location and then create the funnel with your wizards. Drop 2 Wallbreakers to make an entrance into the base, and drop 2 more once the initial wall is broken. You can then let your Valkyries and Heroes go. With a funnel like this, the Valkyries will immediately begin to attack the buildings inside.
Use your heals and rages as you find necessary. You should save at least 2 for the back end of the attack, which involves the Hog Riders. As the attack goes on, you should drop your Hog Riders at the defenses that are distracted, and should help in the clean up at that end. As the attack goes on, you should have plenty of troops left once the defenses are cleared.
Helpful Tips:
- You only have 8 Hog Riders, so use them sparingly. If the defense is distracted, one should do enough. But if the building is targeted on the Hog Riders, then you must use a minimum of 3 per defense.
- The Valkyries do insane amounts of damage and move quickly. Your heals and rages must be placed where they will go, not where they are currently. This ensures the maximum amount of damage and longevity for your Valkyries.
- The Valkyries melt the walls, so after they get into the core of the base, you won't need to worry about them being stuck on the walls. They also don't care for the DBG (Double Giant Bomb) so if you can path them towards possible DBG locations, that would help your Hog Riders.
- You must know the general path of your Valkyries. Reacting quickly to their movements is key. If they seem to be moving towards an intersection of walls, then make sure you know where they're going and play your spells accordingly.
- You don't need to lure the CC for this attack, because the Wizards and the Archer Queen help clean up all air troops. Under heal, the Valkyries don't need to worry about any one troop in the game with their support.
